Massively exceeded expectations

Booked this hotel after visiting crufts, and have to say it exceeded expectations. On arrival we went to the ( busy and buzzy) pub/ bar area to get keys, and had a drink as the really friendly helpful staff checked our booking and told us about breakfast the next morning . We had 2 rooms, a small and normal double and both were large, with high ceilings, big beds, quality linens and facilities and large modern bathrooms with baths and showers. Very pleasantly surprised. Had a great nights sleep and breakfast was amazing , cereals, toast jams and cooked breakfast all included in our rate. Very good value asit would be a £20 pp breakfast all day long anywhere else. Good quality and fresh and fair play to the staff that were on, so helpful and good and manageress took great pride in the place, as did the staff, you could see that

What a fantastic place to stay and a big thank you to Beth and Josh for making me feel so welcome. A beautiful bar/restaurant and the food was amazing!
The room was charming and the bathroom was new with a walk-in shower. Free water in the fridge and tea/coffee making facilities.

Very clean, great breakfast, friendly service, horrible pillows!

I recently stayed at The Old Coffee Tavern and had a very pleasant experience overall. The room and bathroom were spotless, which I really appreciated. However, there were a couple of small inconveniences—the pillows were like laying your head on a sandbag, there was no TV remote in the room that we could find, and the shower had a bit of a leak.
On the bright side, the breakfast was absolutely lovely, with delicious options to start the day. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. The location is beautiful, making it a great spot for a relaxing stay.
One minor downside was the massive clock tower right outside the window that chimed every 15 minutes. That said, I would still recommend The Old Coffee Tavern for its cleanliness, great service, and charming setting.

Fabulous stay, highly recommend.

Most Enjoyable stay, the room had deluxe shower and separate bath everything you need including a fridge.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
The food in the Tavern downstairs was delicious, highly recommend the ultimate roast served on a Sunday.
The whole experience was pleasant.
Little ‘picky’ things:
No phone in room to call ‘downstairs’
No shower mat ( I know for reasons of hygiene this may have been excluded) however shower was very slippery.
The stairs! loads of stairs 48 steps to room 10.
Would I stay again? Definitely
