Cosy village pub serving excellent food

This just covers the pub and dining there. Had an excellent evening meal, steak was excellent. Love the decor, atmosphere, real fire, good beer and friendly hosts. If you like a village pub that understands good food then is well worth visiting. Was staying at the Best Western Dartmouth just up the road, and this meal was a big contrast....so much better. BTW the story of the tin of spam on the shelf is worth asking about....

Incredible roast dinner

We ate here with our two young children. The pub is incredibly welcoming to families and the children were given colouring to do at the table. It was a Sunday so we had the roast dinner. I am gluten free and I was surprised that it was accommodated so I could still eat everything on the plate. It was absolutely delicious, one of the best we have ever had. The portion was enormous and just so tasty. Really recommend a Sunday visit if you are in the area.

A most enjoyable evening.

What an enjoyable evening, fabulous food and participation in the monthly quiz night. The six of us were staying locally at Collaton Farm Caravan site and wanted a nice meal out together. We were very pleased when we realised that our visit tied in with their monthly quiz night and the meals were really lovely, especially the curries.

Great, warm, bright, cozy pub. Great food!!

Had a wonderful evening with an old friend. It was welcoming, bright and cozy. Food was excellent we had the piri piri chicken burger. Followed by key lime pie (yummy) and chocolate brownie. Can’t recommend enough. The menu was simple and extremely well done. Watched other meals going to different tables and have picked what i am going to have next. It all looked fantastic. Looking forward to going back.

Great food and setting

We visited for dinner as a party of 26 including adults and children. Very pleasant 30 minute walk from Woodlands as we were told that there was limited parking.
We had pre ordered so on arrival we sorted out drinks for everyone. Whilst waiting we enjoyed the garden area which had fantastic views.
Unfortunately the food did take over an hour to start coming out and then did come out very slowly so some
People had finished before others got their food. This was understandable as we were such a big party but this is why I haven’t given 5 stars. The staff did keep us informed of the delay and we were very lucky with the weather, being able to go outside.
When the food did come everyone found their food to be very tasty and good portion sizes.
We really enjoyed our meal and would definitely recommend if you are staying nearby.
